Welcome to Kullens B&B and recreation

Welcome to Kullens Bed and Breakfast which is located on a farm about 8 km southwest of the town Lidköping, along road 44 in southwest Sweden. Here you can enjoy the garden and pastures, lie and read in the hammock, take a bike ride, walk or talk to the sheep and see the sunset over the pond and fields.

New built B & B, three double rooms with shower and toilet and a family room with 3-4 beds, with disabled toilet and shower in the corridor. Living room and kitchen is at guests' disposal.

Anna's Cottage is an older, charming, newly renovated house with 3-4 rooms and kitchen, shared toilet and shower.

We also have campsite for campervans.

About us

Kullen B & B is a centrally located farm, 200 m from the road 44, 130 km (1 1/2 hours) north of Gothenburg and 8 km to the nearest town, Lidköping.

We bought the neighboring farm “Kullen”, which means "The Hill" the year 2006. The name shows that it is on a hill. The original farm there we live is called “Bjärby” which means “mountain village” in the Danish language and there are more farms on the same hill. Similar to the old days with the village road through the farms. The place has a long history with many ancient monuments in the area.

The farm consists of forest, field and some pasture. The animals on the farm is sheep, herding dog Jezzy and a horse.

In addition to the farm and B & B business, we work as a forestry consultant and excavation contract work.

In our newly built Bed and Breakfast:

• 1 family room (3-4 beds) with disabled toilet and shower in the corridor.

What to do

• Bathing in the sauna
• Bicycles for hire
• View vintage aircraft, a flight ready Tiger Moth from 1940 on the farm and a grass field.
• Walking into the surrounding countryside, sit and read a book, or to just be and enjoy life.

The nearest town, Lidköping, is a fine market town with many quaint shops. Wednesdays and Saturdays are market days throughout the year. Lidköping is known for its many cafes and for “Rörstrand” porcelain. You can visit the interesting factory museum or shop at factory prices.

“Läckö Castle” and “Spiken” fishing village are also recommended.
• Opera at Läckö Castle the summer 2012 from 13/7 to 4/8. Buy tickets well in advance, in the summer it´s probably sold out.

• “Vigrum” art centre
• Greenhouse “Grevagården”
• Do You like fabrics and cultural environments? Visit Kristinedals factories.

There are many fine beaches /swimming spots around Lidköping and the lake Vänern area. Testing a new one every day!

Kinnekulle - home to many artisans and artists, and beautiful scenery!

• Summerland outside of Skara. Adventure park with waterworld for children and adults.
• Adventure Land in Götene.
• Going steam train between Skara-Lundsbrunn.
• In Skara you can find both “Slöjd-detaljer”, crafts-detail shop and Jula-house for those who like to shop.

Hikes:
• Kinnekulle
• Källstorp, N Kedum, walking on the boardwalks out to the islands in Lake Vänern.
• Pilgrimage tours, etc. hikes.
• “Hindens rev” a narrow spit out in Lake Vänern, the area is a nature reserve, and you can walk all the way out.

Examples of day trips (all in the example may not be time to do on a one day trip, choose what suits you best):

Go to Gudhems ruined monastery, visit the town Falköping (Falbygdens cheese), take the road to Broddetorp-Varnhem (one of the most beautiful roads in Sweden), visit here Löfwings studio, they also has a restaurant, see the Hornborga lake. Varnhem monastery and perhaps the town Skara on the way home.

Take a "scenic road" via the village “Sparlösa”. See Magnolia restaurant and garden, then visit the "retro city" Nossebro, see Halle- Hunneberg and nature center there. Visit the SAAB museum in Trollhättan, enjoy a coffee in Vanersborg. During summer you can also visit Särestads agricultural museum on the way home.

Prices

Rooms:
Bed and Breakfast, linen and towels
Double room 820 SEK, single room 510 SEK.
Children 260 SEK in an extra bed. Children under 3 are free.

If you do not have breakfast, we deduct 50 SEK for adults and 30 SEK for children.

Anna's Cottage can accommodate 6-8 persons can be rented on a weekly basis for 5900 SEK / week including linen and towel to all beds.

Low season from October to May 4900 SEK / week
Set location for campervans from SEK 150.

Conference

Conference close to nature. Go and discuss in groups and do a summary by the campfire. For example, half the day out and the rest of the day inside. Or regular meeting inside, perhaps combined with a nature walk during lunch.

Both day conferences and overnight. Conference room with seating for 10-12 people. Large meeting room / living room with seating for 25 people.

You work undisturbed since we only have one conference at a time.
